Every subject you passed is converted into an achievement level using the table below. If you entered more than 6 subjects, the calculator automatically drops your lowest-scoring subject so only your best 6 count toward the total. Life Orientation is excluded from this calculation at UKZN. Note that if you took more than seven subjects in total, UKZN’s own policy specifically requires English and Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy to be counted alongside your best four remaining subjects, rather than simply your six highest marks, so students in that situation should confirm their exact total with UKZN directly.

What is excluded from a UKZN APS total
